Anchorage Makes Strategic Purchase of $IMU, Partners with Immunefi
We're excited to announce a new strategic partnership with Anchorage Digital, home to America's first federally chartered crypto bank, to deliver enhanced security and risk management solutions to institutional DeFi participants.
Alongside this partnership, Anchorage Digital Ventures has made a strategic portfolio company purchase of $IMU, the core value creation asset powering the Immunefi ecosystem. These are two complementary moves, a deepening of our collaborative relationship and a strong signal of confidence in the role $IMU plays in aligning incentives across the onchain security landscape.
Why This Partnership Matters
Institutions are no longer watching DeFi from the sidelines. Through products like Porto, Anchorage Digital's institutional self-custody wallet, organizations are actively engaging with DeFi protocols, executing native swaps, and deploying sophisticated onchain strategies. But with greater onchain participation comes greater threat exposure, and that's exactly where Immunefi comes in.
Our platform protects over $180 billion in user funds, has facilitated more than $130 million in bug bounty payouts, and connects leading protocols, including Ethereum, Aave, Optimism, and Arbitrum, with a global community of over 60,000 security researchers. Through this partnership, we're extending that security infrastructure directly to the institutions shaping the future of onchain finance.
"Institutional adoption of DeFi demands institutional-grade security," said Mitchell Amador, Founder and CEO of Immunefi. "By partnering with Anchorage Digital and Porto, we're extending our security infrastructure to the institutions that are shaping the future of onchain finance. The $IMU token ensures that every participant in this ecosystem — from security researchers to protocol teams — is aligned around the shared mission of protecting user funds."
The Role of $IMU
Anchorage Digital Ventures' purchase of $IMU is a separate but strategically aligned decision. The $IMU token is the engine that powers the Immunefi ecosystem, incentivizing the responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities and aligning every participant — security researchers, protocol teams, and partners alike — around the shared goal of protecting user funds.
This purchase underscores the growing institutional recognition that onchain security is foundational layer of the decentralized economy, and $IMU is at the center of it.
What We're Building Together
Porto already brings serious security credentials to the table: end-to-end cryptographic integrity, FIPS-140 compliant hardware security modules, configurable quorum approval policies, and real-time smart contract risk simulation across Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Sui, and more than 20 additional chains.
By combining Anchorage Digital's regulatory expertise and custody infrastructure with Immunefi's comprehensive security platform and threat intelligence capabilities, this partnership will deliver enhanced security solutions purpose-built for the institutional DeFi ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
As the onchain economy grows, so does the attack surface. Our mission has always been to stay ahead of that curve by protecting protocols before vulnerabilities can be exploited, not after. This partnership with Anchorage Digital marks another major step in scaling that mission to meet the needs of institutions entering DeFi.
We're just getting started.
